Still thinking about this meal we had from Cleo's this weekend. We've heard the hype and wanted to try it out for ourselves. We went into the Bronzeville location and placed our order and waited about 35 minutes, so I do recommend you place your order ahead of time. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The Bronzeville location does have limited seating if you want to eat your meal there, but on this visit, it was mostly filled with people waiting for their food. On first glance, the prices might seem a bit steep, but I can guarantee you that the meal is gonna be fresh, filling, and delicious. I did the Float and Fly. My friend did the Fly Over. The catfish on both was super crispy, super fresh, well seasoned but not overly seasoned or salty. It was just right. Same for the chicken. Great seasoning, great breading, very nice and crunchy. The wings were still super juicy. And they were a nice size. The sides were also very generous sizes. We did the Mac and cheese and the sweet potatoes. The potatoes were almost dessert like, how good they were and sweet. A perfect balance for the savory catfish and chicken. Mac was excellent. For the amount of orders they were getting and how busy it was, I was almost surprised how good this was. It's tough to get a good consistency most places. This traveled well, we got home and it was still hot. We are already planning our next visit back, I highly recommend you stopping by!

Great find in Bronzeville!!! Staff was helpful with our order and truly appreciated the upfront timing of service. Our meals were delivered & ready for eating! Located across the DaVita's, next to the Small Cycle shop, and near iAMDAD. Enjoyed the bar seating with an outside city view. Thank you! It did not disappoint!!

If your looking for some great soul food on the south side of Chicago you need to head to Cleo's. The chef and her staff are great and friendly and give great recommendations on what you should grab. I love going and getting the Ten and eating the best yams in the whole city.

These are a lot of over hyped restaurants in Chicago that don't measure up to their outsized reputations. There are also plenty of internet or social media sensations that just don't have good food. Cleo's Southern Cuisine is not one of them. I had heard a lot about them, and I wanted to find out if they measure up, and they definitely do. I tried them for dinner on a Friday night. Give their popularity and the time of the week, I was pleasantly surprised that they weren't too busy. Just note that they are not a dine in restaurant. Be ready to take your food to go. While they do have a large table, they are a pick up place. I'm honestly not sure if they are on the delivery apps, but I assume they must be. First, their food is delicious. I ordered the Eddie Mac (fried chicken sandwich), the Pon'Yard (fried chicken and waffles), the Sizzling Swamp (fried cat fish on grits), vanilla cheese cake and a 24 karat muffin. It's next level that the Pon'Yard and the Sizzling Swamp come with lump crab. Having a bit of everything of either one of these dishes is heavenly. One note of warning, both these dishes are expansive, but worth it. The Eddie Mac is one of biggest and best first fried chicken sandwiches in Chicago. It's huge and it comes swill mac and cheese and hot honey on it. The best part is that it costs $15.99, a very good value for the size and quality. If you go you must get the vanilla cheese cake. Second, service is good. You can tell the food is made with love and comes hot and delicious. Third, it's easy to get too as it is accessibility from both Lake Shore Drive and the expressway. Also, free street parking is plentiful. In sum, this is a must visit spot in Chicago.

Tucked away off S lakeshore drive you'll find this tiny but tasty soul food eatery. With seating for about ten people, it's tight if you're looking to dine in, most people ordered to go. We heard about Cleo's from Keith Lee on TikTok. While road tripping through the Midwest, we had to stop here, and glad we did! Pro tip: order in advance online, or call and ask for the order link to be sent via text. The food takes 45-60 minutes to prepare. We ordered via the text link and arrived to our food piping hot! The other patrons were visibly upset as they had been waiting there for food. We got a lot of side eyes We were seated and our food came out immediately. Titi our server had spoken with us on the phone and told the staff "Texas is here". We ordered the flyover. It was FANTASTIC! 3 pieces of perfectly cooked catfish, topped with tons of lump crab and remoulade sauce, 3 fried chicken wings, two sides and a honey butter cornbread muffin. We got mango habanero sauce and chili sauce for the wings. The star of the show was the fried fish. BABY LISTEN!!!! Get it!!!!!! It was literal perfection. Paired with the lump crab and grits it was an amazing experience. We tried both beverages, the grape kool aid and the lemon tea. Both were tasty. The grape took me back to childhood. If you're in the area, please stop by. Your tummy will thank you. Just remember to ORDER IN ADVANCE!!!
